April 11th

There is no title today because I have no energy to muster up anything.  FuBing had another rough day.  She got to skype with a friend in the states that was adopted in December.  She was happy to see her, sad to say goodbye.  The saving grace was this evening when she got to spend some more time with the younger girl from her orphanage.  They actually spoke to each other and smiled a bit.  God put them here at this time and place for her!  They are truly a blessing.  We got a few pics today, but B has not had time to download them.  I will post them tomorrow along with zoo pictures.


Now a request:  We are here in China with no Bible.  The Bible app (which we thought downloaded the Bible actually on our phones) is blocked.  Can you send me some of your favorite verses?  Maybe a verse a day?????

    Praying daily for you, I'm sorry this has been so hard on FuBing Phoebe. She seems so little, I'm thankful Paityn and Makenna are there

  3. So sorry that this is so hard for sweet FuBing. So glad that she has the younger girl as well as her friend in the States that was adopted in Dec. Maybe her words will help calm her heart about what to expect in the US. Do you have someone to translate for you? Could you ask if there is anything she was told about moving to the US that she has concerns or questions about? Maybe this would help to ease her mind.

    Philippians 4:6-7 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

    When you get to Guangzhou, go to Jordan's store on Shamian Island. He has Bibles in Chinese and English (parallel). You can get one for your daughter there and you can read it too!

  8. There are so many changes going on at once for FuBing. It will take time, but I'm sure everything will work out for you. I hope her knowing that there are friends from Huainan that she can communicate with when she is home will in time make her feel better. The language barrier doesn't make it any easier. I don't know if you speak Mandarin at all, or if you've bought flash cards with you but I would suggest Sign Language DVD's once home to help you along. Hoping that FuBing takes a big turn quickly and understands how much you want and care for her.

    This was my devotion for the day...Try though we might, we simply cannot understand God. We see His handiwork, we can feel His presence, we can worship His son, but we lack the capacity to comprehend a being of infinite power and love. Someday we will understand Him completely, but until then, we must completely trust Him. When our courage is tested to the limit, we must lean upon God's promises. God reigns over the mountain tops and the valleys with limitless wisdom and unchanging love-now and forever.
    We love you all and are praying that every day will get easier for you, Bran, Eden and Fu!!!

  15. Just over 4 years ago I was in your shoes. My daughter, just 1 month shy of 13, wanted nothing to do with us. She was not prepared to be adopted. Slept on the floor, wouldn't shower or change clothes for 3 days. She was overwhelmed.
    We called her by her Chinese name for months, until she asked to be called by her new name. Show affection, be kind, talk to her, have fun...even is she doesn't join in. Once we headed for the states things got better because she had only us to rely on. It took her many months to begin to open up, and it was not always fun, but she has come a long way.
    God has chosen your daughter for you...hang in there, be encouraged by the scripture that people are sharing with you. Let me know if I can be of any help. kullstarla@gmail.com
