China Trip - April 10th

April 10th:  Brave Girl

This has been a long, heartbreaking day.  FuBing is so deeply saddened.  She loves her “mother” (nanny) so much.  Her nanny must have taken good care of her.  She is homesick.  I can not imagine the amount of courage it must take for her to come with us.  We look, smell, and sound nothing like her.  To her, we are alien.

We finished up the paperwork and the adoption is now final.  There is a new member of the Yarbrough household!!!!!  She is so smart!!  Breath taking beautiful.  She loves angry birds and noodles.  Does not like the girly clothes, or nail polish or balloons!

She got to play with another younger girl from her orphanage today. WHAT A BLESSING!!!! Tomorrow we will be going with her friend and her family to a temple of some sort.  FuBing is very happy about that.

Thank you for your prayers…keep them going up!!!!

  4. We are reaching our arms all the way to the other side of the world and wrapping all of you in a large hug. So over the moon delighted that it's official and your beautiful Phoebe Fu Bing is your daughter. Praising God from whom all blessings flow and praying that each day will bring more calm and comfort to all of you.

  6. Amanda, it is fabulous news that you have another member in your family! When we adopted our first daughter (also from Huainan), she was still very young but she grieved for a long time. I could not push the stroller or hold her at all. I cannot imagine what your beautiful Phoebe FuBing is experiencing. I do believe that, with time and your love, she will mourn less. I always looked it as a good thing that Zoe grieved as I knew she knew how to love! We will be praying for you all during this transition.

    Sending our Love,
    Sandy

  7. Amanda, What Sandy said about Phoebe FuBing grieving is good. That shows that she can get attached and can love. It will take time, as you already know. This is so new to her. She's never experienced any of the things she is now and it's quite frightening. I'm sure each day will get better. Will be thinking of you and your entire family during this transition. All the Best!

  9. Amanda, I've been praying for you. And for FuBing. Thank you for being honest. You are preparing us for what we might also experience in a few months. I pray that today was a better day and that tomorrow will be even better.
