Lyric is Offically a Yarbrough

The Day After …..gotcha day started off at 5am.  The girls woke up which woke us up and we got going.  We got dressed, ate breakfast, Skyped and FaceTimed with friends and family back home then headed off to our civil affairs appointment to finalize our adoption of Lyric.  This was the day that ended in Lyric’s disruption a little over a year ago and resulted in us being her family!!!!!! Beauty for Ashes!

After our appointment, we came back to the hotel, bundled up, and went for a walk.  After our walk, we checked out the pool and played games in our room.  The pool sounded fun, so we decided to eat then swim.  Somewhere in the 10 minute wait, the honeymoon ended for her.  She began sobbing and wanting to call China Momma.  The connection was bad so we headed to lunch.  She cried all during lunch and gave herself a headache.  We got her lunch to go and went back to the room.  She crawled in bed to take a nap with her big sister beside her (Phoebe is the best).  They ended up getting China Momma on the phone and talked for a couple of hours.  It started out tearful and ended in a barrel of laughs.  I don’t know what they were saying, but they were all three just a laughing.  Oh…Brandon did overhear her tell China Momma that Baba and Mama were good!

After the chat , she asked for headache medicine, then fell asleep at 3pm.  Next, Brandon fell asleep at 3:30pm, then Phoebe at 4pm. Then mommy fell asleep at 6pm…..needless to say it is now midnight 30 and the Yarbrough clan is up and at em!  Lyric got up first, which woke up Phoebe.  Then Lyric hollered…Mama!  Then Baba!  Both of which were followed by blown kisses!

The littlest Yarb on the trip is eating her noodles she ordered for lunch.  Daddy is eating a snack.  Phoebe is trying to go back to sleep but Lyric won’t stop talking to her.  I….am hungry and blogging.  I feel like I am bloated from all the salt I have eaten (I don’t cook with salt and my family does not eat it at home).  I also feel like I have been in a dehydrator. It is soooooooo dry here!

I have no idea how we will pass the next 5 hours until it is time to get ready for the day.

Today we head to the orphanage.  It will be during school time and we are only allowed to stay 1 hour.  I am a little concerned with how the girls will react.  Lyric wanted to go back yesterday to stay.  She said it is boring with us and in America.  I am also concerned about the heart of my big girl.  She is so excited to see her old home and her China Mommas.  I am also concerned that the girls are going to talk us into adopting Lyric’s “little brother” as she calls him!!!

Not many pics for today since we did not do much but sleep, but the last one is worth a million bucks!
